Last Updated ( Monday, 28 December 2009 20:27 ) 2010 Trip ApplicationOpportunity to Explore China This (2010) Summer ‘Cultural Exploration of Greater China Foundation’ is providing Seattle area teachers an opportunity to explore Chinese culture through its summer program to visit China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Transportation, accommodation, food and tour fees are covered by the organization once a teacher is selected for this opportunity. In addition to guided tours to historical landmarks, this two-week program includes many opportunities to meet Chinese school teachers, educators, parents and students. Noted by many past participants, these informal exchanges with Chinese people allowed them to gain a better understanding of modern China and Chinese people - a perspective that can never be provided by any textbooks. We hope this experience will bring a new dimension to your curriculum and enrich your teaching plans for any China related subjects. Our objective is a broad-based understanding of the people and the culture. It is applicable for all grade levels (K-12). We welcome any teaching subjects (such as history, literature, arts, economy, political science or general elementary education) with components related to the understanding of Greater China. As a community-based non-profit organization, we have sponsored over 30 teachers in the past eight years with great results. Some of their reflections are posted in our website. We hope you can join us this year to enhance the understanding of China and share your knowledge with your students. The deadline for accepting the application is February 28th, 2010. The tentative travel dates are July 22 – August 7.
